UPP Announces IT Contracts With the Commonwealth of Virginia
Downers Grove, IL -- UPP Business Systems, LLC, a leading provider of Information Technology solutions nationwide, announced today that the company has been awarded IT contracts to provide the Commonwealth of Virginia with Information Technology services for the Department of Social Services.
UPP has been approved by the Commonwealth to provide both mainframe and client-server consulting services, encompassing development, modification/enhancement, business analysis of critical DSS/DIS systems.
UPP consultants are currently working on DSS' largest application project, ADAPT (Application Benefits Delivery Automation Project), engaged in Unisys 2200 MAPPER/COBOL design, development, modification/enhancement and maintenance of the system, used to automate the benefits eligibility determination process for AFDC, Food Stamps, Medicaid, etc. UPP personnel are also assisting with related functional/business analysis of ADAPT, documenting the system and operational workflow with an eye toward streamlining.
In the client-server arena, UPP consultants are involved in large Unisys MAPPER to Oracle, Oracle Financials conversion projects. They are also being counted on by the DIS component of the DSS for the modification/enhancement and conversion of PC-based to Web-based applications using technologies including Microsoft Access/ODBC, SQL and Web tools.
UPP Business Systems had previously enjoyed a working relationship with DSS, as the company's consultants were integral to the agency's Year 2000 remediation of yet another system, Netcentric. Additional new UPP involvement includes projects for the Commonwealth's Personnel Training function, and also a sub-contract with the Virginia State Police.
