UPP Announces Appreciation Award From the Defense Logistics Agency
Downers Grove, IL -- UPP Business Systems, LLC, a leading provider of IT solutions nationwide, announced today the presentation of an Appreciation Award from the Defense Logistics Agency's (DLA) Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR) for Unisys Information Technology services in relation to the Defense Mapping Agency Automated Distribution Management System (DADMS).
The DLA is a US Department of Defense organization which provides supply support, and technical and logistics services to the military and other government agencies. UPP has been working with the DLA's DSCR in Richmond, Virginia to provide on-going support for DADMS, a Unisys-based legacy COBOL system used for electronic processing and
distribution of geo-spatial information -- maps and charts -- from the National Imagery and Mapping Agency.
UPP Consultant, Wallace Jones, assigned to the Defense Logistics Agency's Richmond Map Facility DADMS Team at the DSCR received an Appreciation Award from the DLA for "many significant contributions" to the team's efforts.
Cited by the DADMS Team Lead for "always hunting errors/problems in DADMS and discovering/proposing solutions for them," Mr. Jones is credited with having resolved issues concerning extended processing times, leading to improved customer support for online systems obligations. He also developed "invaluable documentation of [FTP and BL/SCHED] processes that have improved and refined" DSCR business practices.
Wrote the Team Lead of Mr. Jones: He quickly became "a productive and important member of the DADMS Team... has consistently performed at the highest standards of professionalism... and continually exhibited superior work performance."
