Downers Grove, IL -- Effective September 1, 2000, AFGE Staffing joined UPP Business Systems. AFGE, with their solid Oregon base, is now the foundation for UPP's Western Region, servicing public and private companies, local and state governments, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, ADP and Multnomah County, OR.

The new region provides UPP with a strong foothold in the Pacific Northwest, and local account management for west coast clients. Recruiting for the region is handled by both personnel at "UPP Portland" and UPP's centralized recruiting center, located at the company's corporate headquarters in Downers Grove, IL.

Most all the former AFGE staffers have joined UPP. Peg Miller, formerly founder and President of AFGE Staffing, has been appointed National Director of Government Consulting Services, and is based out of UPP's Orlando office. She brings nearly twenty years in the IT arena, including twelve years as a Consultant.

Susan Robinson, formerly the Vice President and Managing Director of AFGE Staffing, has become the Western Regional Manager and will continue to work out of the Portland, OR area. Susan has twelve years progressive IT development experience, with five years experience in staffing large accounts.

Rounding out the Portland office complement are Rod Corey, formerly an AFGE Account Manager, and now Account Manager of the Western Region, and Merilee Schillinger. Formerly an AFGE Technical Recruiter, she is now Technical Recruiter for the Western Region.
