Web Application Development
UPP consultants have been integral to the development of Internet/intranet Web applications for both business and government clients. Members of the UPP team are responsible for the architecture and development of an object-oriented 3-tier Web application for a government client using Visual Basic, ActiveX DLLs/Custom Controls, MTS, ASP, COM, IIS, SQL Server, etc. in a Windows NT environment. Company staff worked with a team to develop various intranet applications in support of R&D efforts as well as accounting software and time management applications for a chemical company
using technologies such as Java, ASP, Visual Basic, COM, ADO, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML and DHTML with MS Access, Oracle or SQL Server on the back end. For a publicly-owned utility, UPP developed a new ASP-based interface to an Oracle back end for a Geographic Information System with consultant responsibilities including stored procedure development, HTML/ASP forms development and JavaScript-ing for client-side validation. And for a state government law enforcement agency, UPP staff are responsible for Web application development in connection with a criminal history and
fingerprint scan interface system using Unisys COOL:Ice, and also creating and maintaining an affiliated web site using PHP and MySQL on Linux (Case Study).
