Progress Administration
UPP provides Progress database and software design, development, and administration services, under UNIX, Linux and Windows, for a diverse range of clients from a Midwest-based hardware store chain to an international consumer goods conglomerate. Expertise covers the latest Progress, GUI/CHUI programming, and associated products such as AppBuilder, Report Builder, CorVu Business Intelligence software, WebSpeed, Progress Results, and Fathom. DBA services include database space management, database re-indexing, design and optimization, rollback/forward automation, kernel
tuning, backup and recovery, real-time data replication, integration scripting between Progress and various operating systems for ease of administration, production support, etc., with databases ranging in size from 100 MB to 70+ GB. One large volume client, a collectibles retailer, runs multiple warehouses from one remote server, maintaining an
inventory of more than 70,000 items and processing over 30,000 orders per day, including both catalog and Internet sales. Select additional clients benefiting from company Progress resources include a public warehouse with 720,000 square feet of warehouse space and more than 20 clients of their own running Progress on Solaris, a distribution management firm serving the airline and pharmaceutical industries running Progress with WebSpeed, and a leading electronics supplier to OEMs with facilities around the world running Progress database software on AIX.
