IBM Mainframe
UPP provides legacy support services, including new development, applications maintenance and enhancement, and systems and database administration in IBM mainframe environments. For a U.S. military client in the East, UPP personnel are
responsible for continuous monitoring and enhancement of IBM OS/390 MVS systems using COBOL, JCL, TSO and various enterprise-standard IBM tools such as SAS, MXG, MICS, RMF and CANDLE products (Case Study). And for a second U.S. military client, located in the South, UPP consultants are responsible for maintaining IBM (as well as Unisys), systems including IBM mainframe environmental support using COBOL and CICS for a government procurement system, assisting with migration of the system from one military installation to another, integrating large ticket items using IBM COBOL DATACOM, ongoing problem resolution, JCL error correction, ROSCOE macro maintenance, etc. In private industry, UPP is charged with the maintenance and support of a freight company's core IBM mainframe customer system, including analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of enhancements using COOL:Gen, CICS and some Java. Also, for an international airline, UPP maintains DB2 databases in an IBM mainframe (as well as Unisys) environment, and is responsible for the lifecycle development of an aircraft maintenance system using COBOL with DB2 in an MVS environment.
