Working with strategic partners, UPP Business Systems has been providing Systems Integration and Infrastructure Support services to the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) in Washington, D.C. Established in 1949, the agency supplies products and services to other government entities, oversees procurement, and helps reduce governmental costs among other organizational management responsibilities. The GSA is largely self-sufficient with only 1% of their annual operating budget coming from taxpayer dollars.

With a team, UPP Business Systems has supported the GSA's 3GS Program. Known as the Third Generation System or GSA Preferred, the new system is built on SAP R/3 and designed to optimize the tracking of Information Technology goods and services purchased by various customer agencies through the GSA's Federal Technology Service, with goals including more effective project management and greater accountability. Access is provided through a Web-based Portal, enabling the client, the client's GSA program representative and the vendor to collaborate online and in real-time.

Responsible for GSA 3GS SAP administration and security, including BW, HR, CRM, SRM, C:Folders and Enterprise Portal. Developed and streamlined production roles for BASIS, Security, BW, Development and Functional teams. Working from requirements, designed, prototyped, developed, implemented security for new initiatives for SAP CRM and Portal. Created new and updated existing roles; worked on custom Tcodes and reports; used Profile Generator. Used Portal to create Portal Groups, roles, worksets, IDs and role assignment, and Netegrity for password maintenance. Used Portal Import/Export functionality for mass loading of users. Worked with Development to secure programs, tables, interfaces.

Also, documented procedures, guidelines, and prepared production environments for external audit. Served as point-of-contact for SOD, including analysis, maintenance of rules, risk definition and mitigation, etc. Worked with external auditors and different process teams to finalize SOD Matrix and Rules. Used Compliance Calibrator from Virsa Systems in SOD Analysis. Maintained SOD Rules and Library Sets. Mitigated users, roles, profiles and authorization objects. Responsible for quality assurance concerning Security, and ensuring guidelines and procedures were followed.
